The completed final report encompasses and entire semester's evaluation of an alternative system's impact on the Salvador. The feasibility of a two-way flat plate slab, and the accompanying impact that this alternative system had on the overall cost of the project as well as how it affected the acoustic performance of partitions and floor systems on condominiums was evaluated. In the interest of material continuity, the lateral system was re-designed as reinforced concrete and optimized to minimize the materials necessary, while also bringing the center of rigidity in the new system closer to the centroid of the project.
